”On Stage @ World Cafe Live” DVD , Living Colour blazes through Cult Of Personality – December 16, 2005, Philadelphia, PA www.facebook.com www.myspace.com
@melodicdreamer72 I dont blame him for improvising and overcoming.I dont think I would be able to remember it either. From what I here its actually a pretty hard solo and to actually be able to play it differently each time and still make it sound good is a musician in my eyes.
@cast390 That is a mostly improvised solo, “flying by the seat of his pants”, so to speak. There is a lot of musicality in what he is playing. Although I don’t do much in the way of ripping out a ton of notes per second these days, I can tell you it is genuine and it is felt. Like most things, you either connect with something or you don’t.
If their American why is it “Colour”? thats the Canadian way. right now as i type firefox is telling me its wrong because its set to US. Awell amazing song!
to all those who think they were overlooked – I will tell you what really happened – the put out a shit ep immediately after Time’s Up – with some LAME cover of a James Brown song – a capitulation of sorts for them – I had seen them in a 1000 seat theater where they blew the roof off – amazing – 6 months later saw them as part of Lollapalooza 1 and they were … meh … then the next album came in that red cover and the songs were terrible…that’s what happened to living colour
More bruthas on stage than in the audience. Corey Glover has put on a lot of weight. I guess that comes from playing gigs on small stages–no room to run around.
Maybe Living Colour would have made it bigger, but they to me can in at a transitional time in music…Glam was dying(good thing) a little band called Guns N Roses was the biggest band on the planet, Aerosmith and Stones were making comebacks, Grunge happened, Nu Metal happened, Rap Metal happened, all these things sorta ruined it for them..still a great band and good that they are making music and touring still
Well I’m gonna go play San Andreas
